Junk Removal the North Loop
Junk Removal in
the North Loop
The Warehouse District's converted brick lofts — exposed brick, timber beams, and big industrial windows in preservation-capped landmark buildings (55401), plus the newer condos rising between them. The catch is access: freight and service elevators in these old warehouses are tight and COI-gated. We file the Certificate of Insurance, reserve the elevator, break the sectional down to fit, and clear the loft. Flat photo-quoted price, no loft surcharge, MN sales tax included.
The loft-turnover job the franchises get wrong
The North Loop is Minneapolis's hottest condo-and-loft district, and it's built inside century-old brick warehouses converted to lofts — soaring ceilings, timber posts, factory windows, and a preservation cap that keeps them around nine stories. What makes them beautiful also makes them hard to move out of: the freight and service elevators in these landmark buildings are narrow, slow, and reserved through management, dock access is tight, and no building lets a crew wrestle furniture through the shared lobby. On top of that, management won't release the freight elevator without a Certificate of Insurance on file (typically $1M general liability, naming the association). Lofts also hold oversized, industrial-scale furniture — big sectionals, reclaimed-wood tables, warehouse shelving — that has to come apart to leave. We file the COI, reserve the elevator window, pad it, break down what needs breaking down, and carry it out in pieces. One flat photo-quoted price, dock coordination and MN sales tax already in it.
What we clear in the North Loop
- Loft & condo turnover — whole-unit clears between owners or renters; oversized sectionals split for the tight service elevator, COI handled.
- Investor loft flips — a bought-and-emptied loft cleared to the brick before the reno crew or the next listing.
- Oversized industrial furniture — warehouse tables, metal shelving, a sleeper sofa or 4-piece sectional broken down to fit the elevator.
- Boutique & creative-office clear-outs — the North Loop's design studios, agencies and showrooms downsizing or relocating, e-waste recycled.
- Appliance swaps — old refrigerator or washer out of the loft, freight-coordinated, freon recovered.

Why the sectional has to come apart
Almost every North Loop move-out runs into the same moment: a big sectional or a warehouse table that came in years ago — before the unit was finished, or up a construction hoist — now has to leave through a service elevator that simply isn't as wide. Rather than gouge the timber doorframes or hijack the resident elevator, our crews break oversized pieces down and carry them out in sections, then load from the dock window management assigns us. It's slower and it's careful, and it's exactly why loft owners call a full-service crew instead of dragging it out themselves — and it's all covered by the one flat number, no per-piece or per-flight add-on.

What North Loop customers say
"Moved out of a timber-beam loft and my huge sectional was never going to fit that little freight elevator. They broke it down, padded the elevator, and had it all out the dock in one window. COI to management before I asked. Flat price, tax and all."
"Flip a loft in one of the old warehouse buildings — needed it stripped to the brick before demo. They cleared industrial shelving, an old sleeper sofa and a warehouse table, donation-routed what they could, flat quote from photos. Zero surprises."
"Our little design studio downsized and we had a loft full of old desks and a decade of stuff. Booked the service elevator, recycled the e-waste, out same day. The number they quoted was the number we paid."
