The Skyway City
Downtown Minneapolis is linked by enclosed second-floor skyways, and its residents move furniture through lobbies, service elevators, and docks — never the street. The North Loop, the old warehouse district at the edge of Target Field (2010), is now loft condos, and the Mill District grew up among the old flour mills by the Stone Arch Bridge (1883).
Towers and larger loft buildings aren’t part of the City’s curbside large-item program, which serves only one- to four-unit buildings. For tower residents, there’s no city option at all.

Does the city pick up furniture from downtown towers?
No. The Minneapolis large-item program covers buildings of one to four units, so towers aren’t included.
Do you work with downsizers moving in from the suburbs?
Yes. We can clear what doesn’t fit the new condo, from the old house or the new unit.
How is a condo cleanout priced?
By truck-fill, usually a quarter to half truck — $241 to $431 — plus the 9.75% SWM tax.
