Garage Cleanout in
Minneapolis
Every fall it's the same race: clear the detached alley garage before the snow flies, so the car fits and the snow-blower can actually reach the door. We haul the mowers, the tires, the dead fridge, the workbench and a decade of yard clutter straight out of the garage — tight alley access is our normal, and there's no winter surcharge if it drags into December. One flat, photo-quoted price with the ~9.025% Minnesota sales tax already inside it, donation-routed to Bridging. Truck-fill from $241.

The fall pre-snow rush — beat the first real snow
Minneapolis runs on two big decluttering seasons, and the second one has a deadline nature doesn't negotiate. Come September and October, every household with a detached alley garage — which, in this city, is most of them — has the same realization: winter's coming, the car needs to be inside, the snow-blower has to reach the door, and none of that happens while the garage is still full of summer's mowers, the kids' outgrown bikes, the broken patio set and the tires that have been "going to the dump" since spring. That October scramble is our second-busiest window of the year, right behind the spring melt.
We clear the whole garage in one visit and load it straight out to the truck, so there's nothing for you to stage. One flat number covers the labor, the disposal, the drive and Minnesota sales tax — no hourly meter, no re-price when the crew sees how deep the pile really goes.
Tight alleys, early snow — access we handle
The Minneapolis garage sits off a narrow alley, not the street, often behind a bungalow with a tight concrete apron. That access is exactly where curbside services and the City program leave you stuck — but it's our default. We back in or hand-carry down the alley, load out of the garage directly, and don't add an access charge for it. And if the first snow beats you to it, that's fine: we work a snow-packed alley and an icy apron at the same flat price, with no winter surcharge.
What comes out of a Minneapolis garage
- Lawn & snow gear — a push mower ($88), a riding mower ($152), a snow-blower ($95), string trimmers and yard tools.
- Tires — $30 each, or $87 for a set of four; we handle the special disposal so they don't sit in the corner another winter.
- Old appliances — the "garage fridge" or a chest freezer ($146) with the freon recovered and documented, a spare washer or dryer ($128–$133).
- Workshop & storage clutter — the workbench, metal shelving ($71), paint cans, boxes, scrap wood and pallets.
- Outdoor & recreation — a rusted grill ($71 propane / $59 charcoal), patio furniture, an old bike, a trampoline ($116) or basketball hoop ($115).
Garage cleanout pricing in Minneapolis
Priced flat as truck-fill — by how much comes out — photo-quoted before we roll. Loading, disposal, donation routing and Minnesota sales tax are all in it.
| Volume | Flat price |
|---|---|
| Truck-fill (1/4) — one corner of the garage | $241 |
| Truck-fill (3/8) | $338 |
| Truck-fill (1/2) — a half-full garage | $431 |
| Truck-fill (5/8) | $513 |
| Truck-fill (3/4) — a packed single garage | $587 |
| Truck-fill (7/8) | $661 |
| Full truck — a full two-car garage | $732 |
$75 minimum covers a single piece. Single items are flat — a lawn mower $65, snow-blower $95, riding mower $152, tire $30 each, refrigerator $164 (freon recovered). For context, Hennepin County's drop-off charges add up fast on your own — about $30 per fridge for freon, $3 per tire, $15 per appliance — on top of the gate fee and your Saturday. We fold all of it into one flat number; the photo quote is the final price.
Why not just haul it to the county drop-off?
You can — Hennepin County runs two public drop-offs, the Brooklyn Park Recycling & Transfer Station (8100 Jefferson Hwy) and South Hennepin in Bloomington (1400 W 96th St) — but a garage cleanout that way means loading a truck you probably don't have, driving it out, paying the ~$41/ton gate fee plus the per-item charges ($30 freon, $3 a tire, $15 an appliance), and doing it on a weekday when they're open. The City bulk program doesn't fill the gap either: it's curbside only, one free pickup a year then $30 an item, two items a week, out by 6 a.m. (612-673-2917) — useless for a garage full of gear behind the house. We do the loading, the driving and the fees, from the alley, in one flat-priced visit.
We donate and recycle first
A garage cleanout is mostly reusable and recyclable, and we sort it that way. Usable tools, furniture and household goods go to Bridging, the Twin Cities furniture bank, and to Goodwill; scrap metal, tires, e-waste and appliances are diverted through the proper Hennepin County channels rather than landfilled or burned. The rusted-out and genuinely spent gets disposed of responsibly. It's the right thing, and it trims the disposal side of your flat price.
What Minneapolis customers say
"Finally cleared the Fulton garage in October before the snow — old mower, a workbench, four tires and the fridge that lived out there. Loaded straight from the alley, freon handled, one flat price with tax. Car's back inside for winter."
"Detached garage in Nokomis, packed to the rafters, tight alley. I didn't think a truck could even get back there — they managed it, hauled the whole thing in an afternoon. Snow-blower stays, everything else gone."
"Minnetonka three-car with a long driveway and years of yard equipment. Flat quote from photos, no upcharge for the distance or the riding mower, donated a bunch to Bridging. Easiest fall project I've done."
